Belgium is a vegan loving country, with people opting for healthier, plant-based diets. If you are traveling and have the chance for a quick stop in this beautiful country, you will be delighted that there are several options for people who do not consume meat. Not only are the options plenty, they are also downright delicious.

Ghent has just been named Europe’s veggie capital and the shift towards a more sustainable, plant-based lifestyle has encouraged people to go out and about to explore the alternatives their city offers. This speaks volumes about veganism in Belgium and the increased interest of people in not only going meatless but also in participating in events which advocate going vegan. This trade fair is also a platform which inspires people to follow a sustainable lifestyle that is based on plants. The organization believes that going on a plant-based diet is not about depriving yourself, but it is gaining something more. Veggieworld 2018 was such a huge success that the event returns again this year in Brussels from the 19th to the 20th of October. This year’s event is going to be even bigger with more than 5,000 people in attendance. Aside from plant-based cosmetic products, food, and fashion, there will be more vegan products on the agenda, as well as interesting cooking demos and lectures.
