Not a lot of chains offers sumptuous plant-based options. This is about to change thanks to the Chipotle’s commitment to offer more choices for vegans.

Chipotle is everyone’s go-to spot when people want to keep things simple. Nothing fancy, just straight up great tasting food to fill your stomachs with. This restaurant chain is well-loved by many and have endeared themselves to the masses with its offerings of tacos, bowls, and burritos. The addition of plant-based menu items is poised to make Chipotle even more popular that it already is.
The company’s test kitchen has had all hands-on deck perfecting a medley of quinoa dishes which is set to be the highlights of the chain’s vegan menu addition. The new dish is made with gold and red quinoa, chopped cilantro with citrus juice, and cumin. It is an excellent substitute for rice in burritos and tacos. Just as tasty but packed with more protein.
The announcement comes on the heels of the chain’s extremely popular Sofritas, which is made with organic tofu that has been shredded and braised with chipotle peppers, spices, and roasted poblanos. Chipotle was one of the first casual eateries to have vegetarian options with the introduction of Sofritas, a very popular option. According to Chipotle, in 2018 alone, they served close to 7.5 million pounds of the plant-based protein.

All salsas on Chipotle’s menu are vegan and customers have the option to choose from a range of mild, hot, medium, and medium hot salsas.
Introduced in 2013, sofritas is an organic tofu which has been braised with chipotle chilies, a blend of aromatic spices, and roasted poblanos. The company has recently announced plans to offer this in their UK locations too.
Made with jalapeno, fresh avocados, cilantro, and red onion, guacamole is something which is on everyone’s favorite list.
The chips at Chipotle is made fresh every day and are seasoned with a dash of kosher salt and lime. They make a great combination with the salsas.
